Our managing director Dean Morgan set up the business on his own with a small workforce of only 3 on the Penllwyngwent Industrial Estate, Ogmore Vale in 1999, and upon building the business up to a successful joinery shop, moved to larger premises outside Bridgend. The company continued to grow and grow with the increase of pubs, wine bars, clubs and nightclubs opening within the UK, and continued to increase it's workforce over the years. With continued growth, this gave Dean the opportunity to return into the Ogmore Valley, where he started and occupy the former "Newmarket Stables" which was the former colliery training centre and colliery stables for miners and pit ponies, hence our current name "Newmarket Works".
The decision to move back into the Ogmore Valley was always Dean's ambition to enable him to offer employment to local qualified joiners and carpenters and also offer others the opportunity to gain apprenticeships within the industry, to a community that had little to offer in the ways of employment. This move has benefited both Dean and the Ogmore Valley as the workforce is now made up of 80% of local employees and has now recently become the largest employer within the Ogmore Valley.
Our fully qualified team of designers, manufacturers and fitters take great pride in producing our customers needs to the highest of standards.
